Quantum Dating

A physicist walks into an ice cream parlor...

...sits down, and orders himself an ice cream and also a second ice cream that he then offers to the empty stool next to him. He does this every day for about a week. Finally, the owner comes up to him and asks, "Good afternoon. We were all wondering what's the deal with you ordering the second ice cream for the empty stool next to you? No one ever comes in with you." The physicist says, "Well, quantum mechanics teaches us that it's possible through quantum tunneling for particles to spontaneously appear next to me in the form of a woman, and hopefully she would accept my offer and maybe fall in love with me." The owner says, "Listen, we have girls coming in here every day. How about you just go up to one of them and ask her out and maybe one of them will fall in love with you." The physicist says, "Yeah right! How likely is it for that to happen?"
