Gift Card Shopping Spree

A couple of teenagers in Tyler, Texas, worked for a major electronics retailer. Proving that a little knowledge can be dangerous, these two guys, upon finding out how to activate the gift card machine, decided to make a gift card for themselves and then go on a shopping spree, which included buying a palm pilot, mini disc recorder, and some video games.

So, how did the cashier know something was amiss, thereby prompting a call to the police? Seems the two idiots set themselves up with a $100,000 gift card.
