Knitting vs. Boys
I pulled Judi's mom out of earshot of the porch, where Judi sat. "It's really none of my business," I whispered, "but have you noticed what your daughter is doing?"
"Why, no. Is she up to anything special?"
I leaned in closer. "Haven't you noticed? She's started knitting tiny garments!"
Judi's mom's troubled brow cleared. "Well, thank goodness!" she said smiling, "at last she's taken an interest in something besides running around with boys!"
