Mismatched Shoes

A Red Faced Moment

Working in a rather dangerous place, I carry along my safety shoes and my ordinary shoes, both sets of which I use on a daily basis.

On day at 16:45 I was rushing to leave, so I just slipped my shoes on without looking and headed for the bus to go to a job interview I had scheduled. The plaza was very crowded and kept me distracted until I reached my destination. When I arrived and announced my appointment at the interview looked at me funny, but I just smiled back.

As I was returning from my interview, I could feel the unevenness of my feet, but did not bother to look figuring I was just tired from all the walking and bustle. I was still in a hurry and carrying several things to continue to distract me.

I arrived home and got ready for bed since my day had been very long. The next morning when I was getting ready for work I saw a burgundy shoe and a purple sandal sitting by my bed.

I looked around and realized that the mismatched shoes were those I wore to my interview the day before. Well, obviously my parents had a good old laugh when I told them. My parents still talk about it even today, to see me become embarrassed in front of my boyfriend.
